The two maps below show road access to a city hospital in 2007 and in 2010. Write a 150-word comparison essay highlighting the key features.

In 2007:

There was a Ring Road around the hospital, in the southeast corner of which there was a car park that could be used by both the staff and the public. Along Hospital Road, stretched southward connected to the south of the ring road, there used to be 6 bus stops. City Road stretched from west to east having a junction with Hospital Road in the south.

In 2010:

Th ring road remained, yet in the east flank, a public car park was built and the old car park in the southeast corner, redesigned slightly and made a little bit smaller, was given to the staff for use. In the north of Hospital Road, where it was connected to the ring road, and in its south end, where it was intersected with City Road, two roundabouts were made. A large area was devoted to a bus station in the west of Hospital Road, which was given access by two paths from the north and south roundabouts.

The road access to the city hospital underwent significant changes between 2007 and 2010, as depicted in the two maps. In 2007, the hospital was surrounded by a Ring Road, which remained unchanged in 2010. However, some key features were modified or added to improve accessibility.

Firstly, in 2007, there was a car park located in the southeast corner of the Ring Road, serving both staff and the public. By 2010, this car park was redesigned and slightly reduced in size, becoming exclusively reserved for staff use. Additionally, a new public car park was constructed in the eastern flank of the Ring Road, enhancing parking facilities for visitors.

Secondly, in 2010, significant alterations were made to Hospital Road. Two roundabouts were introduced: one at the north intersection with the Ring Road and another at the south junction with City Road. These roundabouts aimed to improve traffic flow and safety. Moreover, a large area was dedicated to a bus station in the western part of Hospital Road, accessible from the newly established north and south roundabouts. This expansion aimed to enhance public transportation options for patients and visitors.

Overall, the changes made to road access in 2010 aimed to optimize parking facilities, improve traffic flow, and provide better connectivity to the hospital via public transportation.
